Hi. I’m Kristin
Mabry, and Mountainside Wellness is my small business that provides group
fitness, personal training, health education, and fitness consulting. I have a small studio in Juneau where I hope
to offer classes and workshops soon. In
the mean time, I will post health-related community events here, and various
links to information that people have asked me about over the years.
I have always been a group fitness junkie. I remember renting Jane Fonda videos when I
was middle school – yes with the leg warmers, tights, and leotards. I have attended classes in every community
where I have lived, and when relocating to Juneau in 96/97, I became a member
at the Juneau Racquet Club, now the Alaska Club. Under the guidance of some fantastic instructors, I began to
teach in 2000, and have been enjoying it immensely since then.
I currently teach and personal train at the Alaska Club and
the University of Southeast Alaska, and I teach instructor training workshops
for YogaFit across the country. I enjoy
teaching all forms of aerobics, weight lifting, core training, pilates, yoga,
kickboxing, stability ball, and working with special populations such as kids,
seniors, and pre/post natal. If you are
specifically interested in my credentials, you can find them here.
This 5 years of teaching has allowed me to meet some very
special people, and I continue to be inspired by empowering others to be the
very best they can be. Fitness and
wellness can be very broadly defined, including not only our physical health,
but our mental, emotional, and spiritual health as well. Every choice we make can have an effect on
our wellness. So, let’s make fitness
our lifetime, lifestyle choice by choosing wisely.
Best wishes for good health!
Kristin
